Just like the classic biscuits and gravy from your favorite diner. Makes the perfect weekend breakfast or weeknight breakfast-for-dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 (16.3 oz) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 (16 oz) roll breakfast sausage
- 1/2 to 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1-2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bake biscuits according to package directions
- Meanwhile, cook sausage in a saucepan over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Do not drain.
- Once sausage is cooked through, carefully stir in flour 1/2 cup at a time until sausage is well coated.
- Slowly add milk until mixture reaches gravy-like consistency. If you like runnier gravy, add more milk. If gravy becomes too thin, sprinkle in extra flour until you reach desired consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve gravy over warm biscuits, alongside scrambled eggs if you wish.
