List of the Best Thanksgiving Movies
An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving
This movie is based on a story by Louisa May Alcott, who authored Little Women. If you like historical fiction, heart-warming stories, and East Coast snowy scenery, this one’s for you!
Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade
I adore this charming romantic comedy. It’s a Hallmark movie, and does air on TV several times throughout November. The main character Emily is the coordinator for the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade. She has to contend with Henry, the consultant hired to cut costs for the parade. The characters are very likable, and Emily wears some darling vintage clothing.

Miracle on 34th Street (1994 version)
I really enjoy both versions of this movie, but I grew up watching this one, so it’s extra special to me. It also centers around a Thanksgiving parade, and transpires over a few weeks up until Christmas. But it starts at Thanksgiving, so we watch it in November, and it’s a great way to transition to the full holiday spirit.
Miracle on 34th Street (1947 version)
You can’t beat the timeless classic nature of this version. And this set comes in both black and white and a color version (and other cool bonus features), so everyone’s happy.
The Thanksgiving House
This heart-warming classic airs on TV in November. It’s about a Boston lawyer who inherits a house, only to find out it might be located on the historical grounds of the first Thanksgiving.

Planes Trains & Automobiles
A comedy about two unlikely travel companions (Steve Martin and John Candy) just trying to get home for Thanksgiving. It’s definitely a classic!
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
You just can’t beat the Peanuts holiday classics. The Thanksgiving one is particularly funny I think. This set also comes with the Halloween and Christmas movies.
Garfield Thanksgiving
My husband watched the Garfield holiday shows growing up, and we’ve enjoyed owning them on DVD and watching them every year. This set comes with the Halloween and Christmas episodes as well.
I hope this list of Thanksgiving movies gave you some inspiration for festive movies to watch in November!
