7 Types Of Beauty Products You Could Be Buying At The Dollar Store

best Dollar Tree beauty products

Think you can’t look beautiful on a budget? Au contraire, my dear!

Did you know that the dollar store actually carries tons of great beauty products? It’s true. I am a frequent Dollar Tree shopper, and I get several of my beauty products there.

Even compared to drugstore prices, you will save heaps of money if you switch to buying some of your beauty products at the dollar store.

If you’re not familiar with the great variety of beauty and pampering supplies at Dollar Tree, you might dismiss them as junky or ineffective.

But the dollar store can actually be a gold mine of savings compared to retail prices, and an opportunity to try new brands. Or products that you might not want to pay full price for elsewhere. (I’m looking at you, charcoal face mask.)

The 7 Best Dollar Store Beauty Products

UPDATE: Did you know you can buy these and many other items online, on the Dollar Tree website?! If you don’t live near a Dollar Tree, or prefer the convenience of online shopping, click here to check out their website!

1. Nail care products

  • Nail polish
  • Polish remover (bottles and in wipe form)
  • Cotton balls and rounds
  • Nail art supplies (i.e. glitter, Jamberry-style press-on stickers, and rhinestones)
  • Files and emery boards
  • Nail clippers
  • Cuticle oil
  • Nail brushes
  • Pedicure supplies (i.e. pumice stones, heel files, toe separators, and foot soak salts)
  • Travel manicure kits

I ALWAYS buy my nail polish remover from the dollar store. Why pay more for the exact same thing? I’ve also purchased quite a lot of nail polish there as well. I’ve even found O.P.I. and Revlon polish! If a brand name company is retiring a certain color of polish, they will often sell their remaining inventory to a store like Dollar Tree at a closeout price.

2. Makeup, brushes, and remover wipes

I definitely always buy my makeup wipes at the Dollar Tree. I used to buy the 25-count Olay ones for $4-5, but the wipes at Dollar Tree are $1 for 30. And I like them way more! They have a few different varieties to choose from, including collagen, retinol, acne, and more.

Other makeup-related items you can pick up at the dollar store are:

  • Makeup brushes
  • Makeup sponges and blenders
  • Mascara
  • Eyeliner
  • Eyeshadow (individual and palletes)
  • Blush
  • Bronzer
  • Concealer
  • BB Cream
  • Foundation
  • Pressed powder
  • Lipstick and lipgloss
  • Liner pencil sharpeners
  • Compact mirrors
  • Travel makeup bags

Obviously, you’re not going to get department store quality at Dollar Tree, but they usually have drugstore brands such as e.l.f. and Wet’n’Wild. I’ve seen ‘fancier’ brands there on closeout before also.

3. Teeth whitening and oral care

The most surprising beauty product I’ve found at the dollar store is teeth whitening kits. They contain the same active ingredients as other whitening products.

They also carry:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Dental floss and flossers
  • Toothpaste (a wide variety of brands!)
  • Mouthwash

4. Shower & bath products

I never pay more than $1 for shower caps, loofahs, or exfoliating gloves. With Dollar Tree, you just don’t have to!

  • Shower gel
  • Bar soap
  • Bubble bath
  • Scented body spray
  • Bath salts
  • Epsom salt
  • Loofahs & net sponges
  • Shower caps (disposable and terry-cloth lined)
  • Bath brushes with handles
  • Exfoliating gloves
  • Hair towels
  • Shower caddies (to hold your shower products)

5. Hair care

The variety of hair care products at the dollar store is astounding. There are popular drugstore brands that we’re familiar with, plus obscure and Dollar Tree brands. From conditioning treatments to styling products, they have it all. There are also loads of cute hair accessories.

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Hot oil & conditioning treatments
  • Dry shampoo
  • Styling products (hairspray, gel, mousse, etc.)
  • Brushes & combs
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair elastics
  • Scrunchies
  • Headbands
  • Clips
  • Barrettes

6. Skin care

Besides the face wipes mentioned above, Dollar Tree also has various products available to clean and moisturize your skin.

  • Face wash (a wide variety including acne treatment)
  • Lotion (scented, unscented, moisturizing, and soothing with oatmeal)
  • Body cream
  • Exfoliating scrub
  • Petroleum jelly – this is great for softening calluses, elbows, and lips
  • Cocoa butter
  • Witch hazel
  • Face mask treatments
  • Charcoal face masks
  • Soothing eye masks (just put in the fridge or freezer, and enjoy de-puffed eyes)

7. Personal hygiene

In addition to all the shower products they carry, check out the Dollar Tree for a variety of other personal hygiene items.

  • Deodorant (a variety of brands for men and women)
  • Feminine products
  • Pregnancy tests (Not exactly a beauty product, but I have heard they’re accurate. And you can’t beat the price!)
  • Body powder
  • Foot powder
  • Razors
  • Shaving cream
  • Athlete’s foot ointment

Dollar Tree also offers some ‘fashion’ items, such as socks for men, women, and children, pantyhose, tote bags, bandanas, wristlets, and hats. They also sell sleep masks, so you can get your beauty sleep!

If you’ve never considered buying beauty products at a dollar store, maybe this list inspired you to try some. It’s totally understandable to pay up for certain types of beauty care items, such as anti-aging serum or foundation.

But when you can save money effortlessly on basic items like makeup wipes or nail polish remover, it could be worth a try. You may even find a product you like more than a retail brand!

Here are some Dollar Tree beauty products I rounded up from around my house : )
